We have TWO films at the Tribeca Film Festival this year—Galen Summer’s “Sidelined” and Jeremiah Zagar’s “We The Animals.”

“Sidelined” will enjoy its World Premiere at the festival. It’s a remarkable documentary that tells an important and little known story. In the 1970s, NFL cheerleaders became a sensation on the sidelines. But when Playboy magazine got the teams’ blessing to photograph their squads, several of the women posed nude and were abruptly fired. Through firsthand accounts from the women, this film uncovers the hypocrisy behind this forgotten controversy. Buy tickets!

And Jeremiah Zagar’s “We The Animals” is playing as well. The film premiered at Sundance in January, where it received rave reviews from The Hollywood Reporter, IndieWire, Screen Anarchy, and others. The film took home the Next Innovator Award at the festival and was purchased for distribution by The Orchard. It won’t be released to general audiences until the fall, so here’s your opportunity to see it early at Tribeca.
