NATHAN CASWELL

BIOGRAPHY

The son of a librarian and a network engineer, Nathan’s parents permitted him to read Shogun at an impressionable age—perhaps leading to his current affection for objectively mundane Japanese cars. While enrolled at Emerson College, he worked as an electrician on direct-to-TV disaster films such as Killer Flood: The Day the Dam Broke and Frozen Impact—a technical background which, believe it or not, informs his on-set approach today.

Later, Nathan moved to Brooklyn and began editing feature films and dozens of commercial campaigns—quickly demonstrating a knack for story that led to writing and directing a large body of work for Under Armour. A rabid sports fan, Nathan’s short documentary Always A Fire, about former New York Giant Chad Jones, became a viral sensation, racking up a million views in its first week of release. More recently, Nathan has directed consecutive campaigns for GE Capital and Milk, work for Tag Heuer, WeatherTech & Wealthsimple, a 30 minute globe-spanning documentary on the most popular video game in the world, and the pilot episode for Showtime’s 7 Deadly Sins, which featured the Heart Attack Grill, home of the 20,000 calorie octuple bypass burger.
